Vol. 4, 2016-2017

Father Joseph Plummer Council 10872 of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community in Spring helped facilitate the establishment of a Court (local chapter) of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas in our parish. The brothers of our Council provided a multi-course Italian dinner for the installation ceremony attended by 90 people. We also presented the new Court of the CDA with a check for $500 to help fund their initial administrative expenses and charitable endeavors. Grand Knight Jay Richardson presented Regent Gloria Riley with the check.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas.

They donate to charities, administer scholarship programs and strive “to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness.”

The CDA motto is “Unity and Charity.”

The CDA was formed over 100 years ago and today numbers 66,000 dues-paying members in 1,150 courts in 45 states across the country, and in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, Kenya, and Peru.

Knights of Columbus Council 10872 and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 2731 look forward to working closely together to serve Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community.
