Vol. 4, 2016-2017
Eleven very happy parishioners posed for this picture after Santa Maria Council 6065 of the Knights of Columbus concluded their 19th BINGO KNIGHT on July 14th.
Shown at the fair right is MC and PGK Ron Schoof. As for the names of the winners, they all said “Just call us HAPPY!”.
Records were made to be broken and broken they were as Santa Maria Council 6065 of the Knights of Columbus, which serves St. Mark the Evangelist parish in Plano held it 19th BINGO KNIGHT in the past seven years and the turnout and dollars raised for charity surpasses anything they had done before.
With 238 parishioners “crowding” into the STM cafetorium for a night of bingo, more than $7400 was raised to benefit St. Mark’s school. Eleven different players won prize baskets, with Katia Kamra capturing the biggest prize of the evening, a $600 VISA gift card. But the real winner was STM’s school, the Teachers’ Wish List, and scholarship aid.
The Council will “do it again” in the fall as BINGO KNIGHT #20 will be held to benefit our military and veterans’ causes.
Stopping by for a visit at Council 6065’s BINGO KNIGHT were a few members of the clergy at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano.. Shown (L-R) are seminarian Parker Thompson, Father Henry Erazo, GK David Wolf, the Rev. Mr. Jesus Chavez, and Vincent Liberto, the project chairman for the event.
