Local Knights of Columbus Report Annual Charity Donations of $42,000

The Alvin-Manvel Council 6403 of the Knights of Columbus donated over $42,000 to local charities in 2017.This includes money to the local needy through Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, BACH, Gathering Place, Harvey Flood Support, etc.

The local charity donations also include money to the local youth through various sports programs (softball, etc.), Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts scholarships, etc.

Also included was over $8000 in direct support of our seminarians.

The principle fundraisers for the local Council include twice-weekly bingo games, an annual gun raffle and fish dinners served the second Friday of every month.

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic lay organization. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Church, their communities, families and young people. With more than 1.8 million members in over 13,000 councils around the world, the Knights of Columbus donated more than $170 million and 70.5 million hours of service to charitable causes in 2017.
