Brownsville Forms Spanish Speaking Ceremonials Team and Holds Inaugural Major Degree

By Phil Apgar State Ceremonials Chairman

Vol. 4, 2016-2017

Under the leadership of SK Armando Gonzalez, DD 217, Brownsville, several Brother Knights approached me in May of this year about forming a new Formation Degree team in Brownsville to exemplify the degree in Spanish. The plan they presented had them holding a degree in September, which was a lofty goal considering they were starting from scratch, would have to memorize the various parts, purchase the robes, equipment and get all the degree materials together by then. These Brother Knights proved they were up to the challenge, with the final major degree date set for November 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Council 15448 in Brownsville. The Degree was a success, with twenty-five candidates receiving their Formation and Knighthood Degrees. Our worthy Supreme Director and Special Assistant to the Supreme Knight Javier Martinez was able to attend the degree and certify the work of the new team. Brother Eliseo Farias was the Conferring Officer for the Knighthood Degree. The new members of the Brownsville Spanish Degree Team are: Armando Gonzalez, Jorge Alanis, Manuel Salazar, Eliseo Ancira, Jr., Jesus Quintana, Jesus Lopez, Javier Mejia, Alfredo Castro, Gilberto Duran and Eliseo Ancira, Sr.. The class assembled for the picture you see above. Congratulations to the Brownsville Spanish Degree Team on a job well done! We look forward to your scheduling your next degree.
