The active members of Knights of Columbus Council #10258, Bandera, TX, for the fourth year in a row, had another extremely successful 40 Cans for Lent food collection. This year the council collected 2,007 lbs. of nonperishable food items from council members, parishioners and ‘Winter Texans’ during the Council's weekly Lenten fish fries. The food will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society food pantry of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Bandera, and St Victor Chapel in Lakehills, and distributed to the needy of Bandera County.

Brothers Raul Escontrias and Bill Araiza once again spear-headed this activity and their leadership and dedication to serving the people of Bandera County are truly inspiring. These two Catholic gentlemen live their faith and demonstrate the first pillar of the Knights of Columbus: Charity. Members of the Knights of Columbus show love for their neighbors by conducting food drives and donating the food to local soup kitchens and food pantries.

The Council wishes to thank everyone who generously donated food during this 2019 Lenten season.
