Pilot Point Council 2045 celebrated their 100th Anniversary on October 19th, 2019 on the same date they were chartered back in 1919. The celebration was attended by over one hundred people, including state and district representatives, Knights, and their lady Knights.

Council 2045 serves St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church located in Pilot Point, Texas.Pilot Point is a small community located about sixty miles north of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church itself was established in 1892, and the current sanctuary was built in 1950. Council 2045 was chartered in 1919 with 60 founding members. Today our membership is over 150 Knights. Our first Grand Knight was Martin Mueller from 1919-1921. We have served our community continuously since that time up to our present Grand Knight Sir Knight Roland Jones who is currently serving as our 46th Grand Knight. Our Fourth Degree Assembly bears the name of Msgr. Paul Charcut, who was instrumental in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church’s growth after the Great Depression, and who served as pastor from 1936 to 1952.

The theme of the celebration was the bastion of the call of all knights who serve – SERVICE!

Over the years, Council 2045 has been involved at Masses, funerals, weddings, charitable fundraisers, and numerous community events. Sir Knight Joseph Duran delivered the introduction to the evening’s festivities. Past Grand Knight BJ Henzler welcomed everyone and recalled numerous events that he has seen in his 94 years. BJ and Sir Knight Virgil Berend, both in attendance, have the distinguished honor of seventy-six years of service. BJ served as our Grand Knight from 1957 to 1959 and is our acting historian. Virgil served as Grand Knight from 1963 to 1965.

As it was back in 1919, we remain guided by the Knight’s four core principles of CHARITY, UNITY, FRATERNITY, and PATRIOTISM.
