Vol. 4, 2016-2017

On Sunday afternoon, October 13, 2019, 12 Sir Knights from various Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree assemblies across the Dallas Diocese formed an honor guard for the Our Lady of Fatima Procession at Flag Pole Hill in Dallas. New Sir Knight and Dallas Seminarian Kyle Fletcher led the procession as the Crucifer followed by the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard, the Our Lady of Fatima statue, seminarians from both Holy Trinity Seminary and Redemptoris Mater Seminary, and clergy and religious including Bishop Edward Burns of the Diocese of Dallas. SK Pat Conway, Master of the Third Texas District, and SK James Hale, District Marshal for the Diocese of Dallas, and 6 other Sir Knights escorted the statue secured to a platform carried by Sir Knights Patrick Fletcher, Frank Vera, Joseph Donahue, and Dylan Sexton. After the procession and a short talk about Our Lady of Fatima by Knight of Columbus Thomas McKenna with Catholic Action for Faith and Family, a rosary was recited and then Bishop Burns consecrated the Diocese of Dallas to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Following the program, everyone was provided an opportunity to venerate the statue as well as Thomas McKenna’s reliquary containing the relics of the True Cross, the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, and St. Jean Vianney.
