Vol. 4, 2016-2017

Open Floor2

On October 12th, Council 11721, provided greatly needed assistance to an elderly lady as part of the City of Kaufman Development Services Department N.E.A.T (Neighborhood Enhancement Action Team) program. The program is designed to help the disabled and elderly of the Kaufman community and is held twice a year (Spring and Fall).

Our project was to repair a leak in the bathroom which was identified as a toilet problem.Five Knights from our council focused for 14 hours to resolve the issues which included replacement of the toilet, bathroom floor, tile, pipes, support beams and drywall.

A huge thanks was received from the home owner and the City of Kaufman, which reads:

Hi,

OMG!!!! OMG!!!!!!

That bathroom looked wonderful. That is probably the nicest bathroom she has ever had!!!!

I am astounded, amazed, speechless, knocked to my knees, a true believer, and so grateful to the Knights of Columbus and St Ann’s Catholic Church.

Thank you for all the expertise, time you and your crew spent at Ms. Maudie’s home and caring so very much.

I have no doubts y’all are part of the rock that Christ built his Church upon. You have extra stars by your name when you get to the pearly gates, and Peter will know you by your faith, your heart and your deeds. God Bless You!!! Please let you fellow Knights know how very appreciative I am for what was accomplished.

Sincerely, your friend in Christ,

Marcy Ratcliff, Development Services Director, City of Kaufman
