Council 17304

Knights of Columbus Council 17304 is in its first year as a council. In support of Knights of Columbus Pro-Life Activities we’ve been hard at work generating awareness and bringing our community together.

Pro-Life Banners & Mini Crosses:

As per the included photos, the St. Martin de Porres (SMdP) KoC Council 17304, in conjunction with the 46th Annual March for Life, put up Pro Life banners and 120 mini-white crosses on our church property near Highway 380 in Prosper, TX. The banners and crosses were up from January 17th through February 3rd, to bring attention to the Pro Life movement and are a powerful witness towards public awareness on the on-going holocaust of Abortion in our country.

Novena for Life & March for Life Rally Event:

Additionally on January 23rd, 2020, in commemoration of the 47th anniversary of that dreaded day when the Supreme Court legalized abortion via decision on the Roe v. Wade case (Jan. 22nd, 1973), and on the eve of the 46th annual March for Life (1/24/20), our SMdP Knights Council hosted a Novena for Life & March for Life Rally Event in our parish hall from 5-8pm. This event began with a kick-off of our Novena for Life and the praying of a Rosary for Life (a daily Rosary was part of the Novena, from 1/23 through 1/31/20). This was followed by our March for Life Rally Event which began with a presentation from Randy Bollig, the director of the Loreto House for crisis pregnancy support, which we collected donations for that evening as well as for the Knights of Columbus Ultra Sound Program. Then the MFL Rally event concluded with a screening of the Pro-Life movie “Unplanned” on a 20 foot inflatable movie screen which we set up in the parish hall (see second photo attached). We hosted approximately 70 people for this event and had pizza and soft drinks. It was a great evening of prayer and focus on the Culture of Life!
