Last year, Council 7563 embraced the mission of helping the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration at the Corpus Christi Monastery located in El Paso’s Lower Valley. To this end, Council 7563 started a fundraiser which involved the sale of Papa Burger tickets. This project was spearheaded by the efforts of our Brothers Mark Benitez, Hector Ortega and Javier Gomez. They have been aiding the Monastery throughout the past year by completing several projects at the monastery to include installing an air conditioning unit, painting and cleaning. The most recent project was just completed last month by Brothers Mark, Hector and Javier along with the help of their family and friends. This crew undertook the project of remodeling a bathroom which included the removal of the old tub and walls, the reconstruction of a new shower and the installation of a new toilet. The total cost for materials was over $800 and the labor was donated by the Knights, their family and friends. The work crew pictured are Brothers Hector and Javier along with their family and friends, George, Ronnie and Sam. The transformation seen in the before and after photo is a true example of God’s work. The pictures were provided by Brothers Mark Benitez and Hector Ortega.
