The Members of Knights of Columbus Council 12300, along with ladies and several dedicated teens, hosted a Christmas Luncheon at the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in Bonham, Texas. These Knights organized and brought a full Christmas meal, including turkey, ham and all the trimmings. The group served more than 60 permanent residents of the center's long-term care facility, as well as more than 30 staff members and the team enjoyed the meal themselves as they mingled and visited with these fine veteran soldiers.

Brother Knight Rick Guzman provided live music and sang the National Anthem and played taps for the assembled veterans. Each of the veterans, in addition to the delicious meal, received some gifts provided by several organizations, and the facility was presented a 70 inch flat screen TV and other gifts.

SK Erv Prince offered these comments: “This was one of the most rewarding efforts I have ever been involved with, and I look forward to having a small part in next year's luncheon, which we hope to make bigger and better!”

Knights of Columbus Council 12300 have hosted an annual Veterans celebration at their home parish, St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie, Tx for several years now, and the opportunity to expand this to the vets at the VA Center just seemed natural. Serving a nice home-cooked meal to these men blessed the givers as much as the recipients, as they brought the Christmas spirit to our honored veterans.
