Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025
Our Lady of Guadalupe Fort Worth, Council 16258, charter July 1, 2015 and they are already making a difference for the better. They know you don’t have to be a superhero to make a difference in someone’s life. Donating a pint of blood goes a long way in preparing and helping a community, especially in the DFW area that has had recent natural disasters.
On Sunday, January 24, 2016, the people at Our Lady Of Guadalupe took some time out of their busy schedules to give blood at the American Red Cross Blood Drive hosted by The Knights of Columbus, Council 16258 in Ft. Worth. One person in the United States needs a blood transfusion every two seconds; every pint saves 3 lives. Out of 97
individuals that signed up to give blood, 79 pints were collected, which saves 237 lives. Blood is used for trauma victims, those who suffered accidents, heart surgery patients, organ transplant patients, premature babies, and for patients receiving treatment for cancer and other diseases. Thus, the need is unending.
These brother Knights dedicated the most time for the drive, their second in three months: FS Joel Lopez, GK Tom Puntueri, John Meza, Ricky Meza, Roman Garcia gave double reds, Mike Echevarria, Concho Gutierrez, Robert Quinn, and Bill Pogeman
