Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025
Knights of Columbus Holy Spirit Council 7264, the Youth Group at St. Stephen Catholic Church & Grace House Ministries co-sponsored the 7th Annual “Hike for Life” fundraiser on Saturday January 23, 2016. Grace House, founded in 1993, strives to promote hope, life, and knowledge in the community through The Options Clinic, Grace House Pregnancy Center, and Pure Truth in-school training program. Rusty Gibson, Chairman of Respect Life Committee, St. Stephen Catholic Church, was the site coordinator. Fr. Eric W. Vowles, Rector at All Saints Anglican Church, also supported and participated in the hike. Fr. Vowles addressed the crowd before the hike and made it clear that the Anglican Church of North America, of which his church is a member, is “staunchly pro-life” and in fact has an organization, Anglicans For Life, that strives to drive home the message of respect for all life, from conception to natural death.
More than 150 youths and adults of all ages participated in the 3 mile walk. In addition to local parishioners, supporters came from throughout the community including from: All Saints Anglican Church, Weatherford, TX; Our Lady of Lourdes, Mineral Wells, TX; as far away as St. Mary’s, Dublin, TX; and others.
The Knights of Columbus 7264 provided grilled hot dogs & water as well as assisted with safety. The Weatherford Police along with the Weatherford Citizen’s Patrol ensured the safety of all involved. Over $12 thousand dollars was raised.
