Something to Be Proud Of

Brother Mat Burt, Scouter Extraordinaire, and all around good guy, sent me this e mail, and I wanted all Our Brothers to be aware that the Sacred Heart Scout Program, that Our Council Charters and helps support, has accomplished something extraordinary! Not only do Our Scouts win Scouting Award after Scouting Award, but to see so many of Our Scouts take the time, and make the effort, to earn their religious awards, is amazing, but then, for the Pack, the Troop, and the Venture Crew to go on and win all THREE (3) of the this years Diocesan Bishop’s Trophies, well that is just OUTSTANDING! When you see any of Our Scouts and Adult Scout Leaders (most of them are Brother Knights, still working on the others), please congratulate them on their efforts and accomplishments.

Scout Pack, Troop, Venture Crew 1517:

As I understand it, no other Unit in the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston has ever done what we did today…. Out of nearly 200 Catholic Units in our Archdiocese, WE WON ALL 3 BISHOP’S TROPHIES!

The trophies were awarded to our Scouts this afternoon at the Religious Emblems and Awards Ceremony, sponsored by the Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting held at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston.

All of Unit 1517 has been invited to the District Roundtable this Thursday night at 7:00 in Willis to celebrate our accomplishment. Its location is North Montgomery Community Center (600 Gerald St, Willis, TX 77378).

CONGRATULATIONS TO PACK 1517, TROOP 1517, AND CREW 1517! Well done!
