Blue Mass at St. Edith Stein Katy

On July 30 2017, Council 12955 sponsored the 5^th Annual Blue Mass at St. Edith Stein Catholic Church in Katy to honor first responders. First responders and their families from seven agencies in the greater Houston area were represented. We were honored to be joined by Harris County Sheriff (and Knight) Ed Gonzales. Deacon Ted Heap, Harris County Precinct 5 Constable and Knight, delivered a moving homily during the mass celebrated by Father Ryzard Kulma. Father Emil Kapaun Assembly 2721 from Katy, TX provided an honor guard. The various police agencies displayed their equipment including squad cars, armored vehicles and a Sheriff Department helicopter. Following the mass, Knights and family of Council 12955 served a catered barbecue lunch.
