In Solidarity with Our Priests

Holy Spirit Council 7264 of St. Stephen Church, Weatherford, Texas donated more than $11,000 to the order of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate priests, better known as the Pallottines, founded in 1835 by the Roman priest Saint Vincent Pallotti.

The Knights raise the funds by sponsoring a “can drive” annually where parishioners are asked to throw their loose change into the cans during lent. The cans are collected by the Knights after Easter and all the proceeds are donated to the Pallottine Order in support of their missions located in 45 countries.

In addition to the can drive Council 7264 also gives a generous donation to support the Pallottine Seminarian Fund in East Africa. Father Mike O’Sullivan, Pastor St. Stephen, is a Pallottine priest as many of his predecessors have been. St. Stephen Catholic Church is one of the largest contributors to the order in part due to the Knights’ financially support.
