Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025
Kristin Bittick, mother of young David Bittick who has Down Syndrome and autism, was in a quandary. A play set that she had acquired for David had been sitting in boxes in her garage and for several months she wondered how to get it assembled. Finally, she reached out to the Knights of Council 8417 and Assembly 2265 in Ennis. The cavalry came to the rescue! A group of Knights and ladies arrived on a hot July Monday morning and within a few hours, the play set was assembled. When David saw the finished set, his reaction was “absolutely priceless” according to his Mom. Kristin wrote “First it was shock, then excitement, and finally pure joy as he ran to jump on a swing.” In a “thank You” letter she wrote, Kristin stated that she did not know of another group of men with such deep faith, unwavering dedication, strong work ethic and loving compassion for those in need.
Those present were Deacon Dennis Bryant, Tal Tallet, Glenn Beck, John Casarez, Clyde Stolz, Joe Kucharczyk, Art Wernersbach and Adam Banks. A neighbor, a church member and several ladies were also present.
