Lifting High the Cross by Holy Spirit Council 7264

Time took its toll on the huge wooden cross that adorned the pathway to the entrance of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Weatherford. It had become dangerous due to wood decay especially at the base where the cross was cemented into the ground. The Knights of the Holy Spirit Council 7264 stepped up to remove and replace the cross. Before they could do that, the new cross had to be custom made by members of the 7264 Knights. Getting the new cross into the hole turned out to be a tricky proposition but with Lawrence Bierschenk operating the lift on a tractor and Knights pulling on ropes, they were able to complete the task.
