Catholic School Week

Catholic School Week started with St. Michael Catholic School Principal Mrs. Carolanne McAfee placing the following “thank you” in the church’s Sunday bulletin in recognition of the support given by the Weimar Knights of Columbus Council #2153.

St. Michael Catholic School Weimar, Texas recognizes the Knights of Columbus Council #2153 as

“SMCS Special Donor of the Year”.

“The members of the Knights of Columbus Council #2153 continues to be one of our greatest supporters, contributing their time, talent, and treasure to the success of our school. Several KC members assist us in maintaining the facilities and helps with playground clean-up prior to the start of each school year; others help by working fundraising events, and several serve on the St. Michael Catholic School Advisory Council. The SMCS Home & School Association receives $4,500.00 yearly from the KCs which helps purchase tournament and track-meet medals and trophies, assists in paying the monthly water bill, and helps to purchase new sports equipment and uniforms. In addition, several years ago under the leadership of Past Grand Knight Tim Leihardt, the KCs recognized the dedication of the school’s faculty and staff and their commitment to education. The KCs decided to do something special for the St. Michael faculty and staff to honor each of us for answering the call to serve. Thus the KCs provide a monetary Christmas gift to each faculty and staff member. Finally, the KCs help promote excellence in the classroom through the sponsorship of student essays and art contests. St. Michael Catholic School continues to be blessed by this wonderful organization! “
