Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025
On Sunday, December 18, 2016 the Color Corps of the Fr. Abram J Ryan Assembly 1087 presented to Fr. James Yamauchi a Chal-ice that will be used in a new and inspiring program. This program is called “Elijah Cup for Vocations” and will be an ongoing program as St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Talty, Texas to promote Vocations. St. Martin Parish recently celebrated 125 years of service in the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, Texas on December 17, 2016..
This program involves presenting a Consecrated Chalice to a Parish family during Mass on Sunday. The Consecrated Chalice will be taken home by the family and placed in a prominent location for prayer in their home so that each day when the family prays to-gether they will also pray for Vocations. The family will return the Chalice the following Sunday where it will be presented to an-other deserving family during Mass. The new family will again take the Consecrated Chalice home and incorporate it in their daily prayers, focusing on prayers for vocations.
The Elijah cup will become a perpetual part of the Sacrifice of the Mass at St Martin’s and perpetuation of prayer for vocations.
An honor guard of eleven members of the Fr. Abram J Ryan Assembly Color Corps participated in the presentation lead by CCC Sir Knight James Hale, PFN. Presenting the Chalice to Fr. James Yamauchi was Former Master of the 3rd Texas District Sir Knight Salem McLean, PGK, PFN, FM. (see photo).
