Hippity hoppity Easter was a lot of fun! The Knights of Columbus Holy Spirit Council
7264 of St. Stephen Catholic Church sponsored its annual Easter Egg Hunt on
April 15, 2017. The Knights invited all
kids 10 years of age and younger in the community to join in the hunt, regardless
of religious beliefs. Two thousand
plastic eggs of assorted colors were thrown across several acres of fields that
had once been a golf course. Brother
Knight Ricky Maitlen brought lots of candy donated by an anonymous donor. Prizes were hidden inside the eggs for the
children’s amusement; some eggs even contained money for the older kids. Before liberating the kids to scramble for
their little treasures, the children played games including the limbo. The Easter Bunny even came to visit the
excited and surprised kids. The children
were divided into age groups and multiple fields were used to help keep the
hunt even handed. Snacks and drinks were
also provided by the Knights for all involved.
It was a fun filled afternoon for the entire family that, once again,
allowed the Knights to put into practice the tenets of the Order: Charity, Unity and Fraternity.
