On July 12, Field Agent Douglas Supak of La Grange, Texas, was inducted into the Knights of Columbus “Hall of Fame” during a special banquet with over 800 in attendance held in Omaha, Nebraska.The award was presented by Doug’s son, General Agent, Tom Supak and Supreme Knight Carl Anderson of Washington, DC.
As a 2018 “Hall of Fame” inductee, Doug is now part of a very exclusive group. He joins just nine other previous members in the “Hall of Fame.” In an article written for the Knights of Columbus newsletter covering the banquet, the author states that being inducted in the “Hall of Fame” is a very special honor and one reserved only for the best of the best within the Knights of Columbus insurance program.
Doug’s extraordinary service, loyalty and dedication to the Knights over the course of his 41-year career earned him induction into the Knights of Columbus “Hall of Fame.” Doug began his career as a field agent in Texas on January 1, 1977, and plans on retiring at the end of 2018.
Doug joined the Knights in 1961 as a member of Council #2574 in La Grange, Texas. He is a Past Grand Knight and Past District Deputy. Doug entered the insurance force in 1977 as a field agent for the Terrence O’Brien Agency. In 1997, Doug’s son, Tom, took over as general agent of the agency. That same year Doug’s younger son, Jody, joined the agency as a field agent, making the Supak Agency a true family affair.
During Doug’s career he finished 100% or higher of company quota for 40 years, earned the National Quality Award and the National Sales Achievement Award. Doug is a Supreme Knight’s Club qualifier and a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table. In 2015, Doug was recognized as the NAFIC International Fraternal Insurance Counselor of the Year in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Doug was joined at the banquet by his wife of 59 years, Marian “Polly” Supak, his two sons Tom and Jody, his two daughters Debbie and Peggy, Tom’s wife Sheila and Debbie’s fiancé Michael Maddox all of La Grange.The couple also has 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
