Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025
Ameen Al-Bahloly, our Worthy Deputy Grand Knight from Council 11596, took part in a panel titled “Leading a Meaningful Life with Autism” held on January 14, 2018 at the Central Library as a part Dreamweek 2018, which is inspired by the work of the late Martin Luther King, Jr. and has 200+ events held throughout San Antonio. The moderator asked the panel members numerous questions regarding their education, work experience, character strengths, and advice to parents who might think their child has the diagnosis. This was Ameen’s second time to participate in this panel moderated by the Autism Society of Texas headquartered in Austin. A point of interest to brother Knights of Columbus in Texas: a diagnosis of autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, PTSD, and related communication challenges indicated on a TX DL-101 signed by a physician can be reflected on the back of a TX Driver’s License or ID Card, as seen below.
