Council 7264 Donates Wheelchairs to Weatherford Health Care Center

Knights of Columbus Holy Spirit Council 7264 of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Weatherford, Texas donated three wheel chairs, distinguishable by their bright yellow color, to the Weatherford Health Care Center.Grand Knight Dave Straka, Deputy Grand Knight Ray Carr, and Financial Secretary John Achtyl presented the chairs to Melissa Young, Rehab Program Manager and Harsh Parikh, Physical Therapist.

Melissa Young expressed much gratitude and appreciation for the donation of the wheel chairs.“They get used very much and it’s an awesome gift and people who really need it benefit from it.And they like ‘em!The ladies will say ‘who has that yellow chair?’”Melissa went on to say “they notice the brightness and they look sharp, because all of ours are black.”Knight John Achtyl pointed out they are yellow to help them to be seen better when they are outside in the dark crossing the street or something like that, because the yellow shows up well. In saying goodbye Melissa said “we really appreciate what you all do for our residents.”She stated the residents really light up at Christmas time when the Knights bring the many gifts for the residents to choose from.“They get in there and they’re so excited.We have a lot of really awesome people that live here.We like to spoil them; it’s their home.That’s why they can’t get rid of me, I like ‘em too much.”
