Today we assisted the Catholic Daughters of America in serving a pancake breakfast for the graduating students of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin,Texas. There were 25 graduating students who were able to attend this year.
We had an early start Don Mcgregor and the rest of the Knights from the Alvin/Manvel Council 6403, assisted the CDAS with the preparation of this blessed breakfast. We prepared pancake batter, biscuits with gravy and sausage, while CDAS set up fruit salads, coffee, milk and orange juice.
Students started showing up at the parish hall with their families and following them to bless their breakfast and say a few kind words to the graduating class was Fr. John Taoson. There were ablout 100-125 parishioners in attendance. So pancakes were a flipping and gravy was a drizzling.
Come to find out from one of the CDAS that the event was in its 45year of existence WOW that’s a lot of pancakes. We would like to thank all of the ladies involved with their hard work the event was a great success. We will definitely be out to help next year. Special thanks to Mary Ann Ermis and Joyce Chiasson and all the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for their endless dedication to all the graduating students every year
