Spring Games Athletes Village Special Olympics Texas-Area 19 2018

El Paso Diocese Knights of Columbus hosted the Area 19 Texas 2018 Spring Games Athletes Village at Burgess High School. Hundreds of Special Olympics Athletes enjoyed the many games provide by the Knights and were given over 3,500 toys for their participation. They enjoyed the music from high school drum corp., eat ice cream and hot dogs. This is the 15th year that the El Paso Knights host the Athletes Village and the Area 19 directors were very happy with the outcome.

The El Paso Diocese Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and Knights on Bikes served as the Honor guard for the Parade of Special Olympics Athletes, Presentation of Colors, National Anthem and Invocation. The Honor Guard members were from Cristo Rey Assembly 1113 SK Frank Ortiz, SK Raul Ponce, SK Klaus Hill, SK Luis Guzman, SK Arturo Aragon, and N Frank Guzman. Member of the Knights on Bikes were SK Lawrence Steward, SK Fernie Silva, SK Rene Gardea. SK Luis Ortiz, SK Art Navarro, SK Richard Lopez, SK Jesus Chavez, and Marshall of the 5th District SK Jim Tustin
