"Wally's Helmet"

As we close out these past two fraternal years I want to take a moment to thank you for your support of our Texas Women's Project. The women of Texas were proud to support the Military Chaplains Co-Sponsored Seminarian Program for the Archdiocese For The Military Services.

As a result of this effort, we presented Archbishop Timothy Broglio with the Archdiocese For The Military Services a total of $80,000 for this two year project.

Our support will continue for another two years under the leadership of our new First Lady, Mary Evans as she announced at the recent State Convention to continue this project for another two years. Obviously, the Holy Spirit continues to inspire us and this program. Please support Mary as she continues this worthy program.

Two years ago you were introduced to Wally's story...and his helmet. Wallace Benson (my father), was a combat war veteran at the battle of Heartbreak Ridge, while in Korea in 1951. He was just a kid from Wisconsin who knew that it was his duty to serve our country - like so many of you have, proudly and selflessly.

I write this message to you on Memorial Day. I am grateful to you, for those who served this wonderful free nation that we have the privilege to live in, the Texas Knights of Columbus, and the proud women of Texas who drove this successful campaign. I am truly humbled by your support and generosity.

Please continue to support this program and please continue to pray for the military men and woman who proudly serve our country.
