Annual Texas State Council Convention

Vol. 4, 2016-2017

Brother Knights and lovely Ladies,

Mary and I personally invite you and your family to join us for Texas’ 115th State Convention to be held April 26-28, 2019 in Corpus Christi at the American Bank Convention Center. The local convention committee has been working very hard to make this a memorable event for all Knights and their families.

Here are a few of the highlights. If you are a fisherman or a golfer, plan to join many of your Brothers for some friendly competition on Friday morning. Mid-day, we will host our clergy and spiritual counselors for a seminar and luncheon, so please ask your Council Chaplains and Assembly Friars to put this on their calendar. On Friday afternoon, we will have an Awards Celebration to congratulate and recognize the hard work and exemplary achievements of our councils all across this great state. Plan to attend this great event as we celebrate and share your many accomplishments. The Convention Committee has a trip to the Texas State Aquarium planned for Friday evening. After that event there will be hospitality rooms open to offer fraternal cheer and for meeting old and new friends.

Prior to the evening event, all are invited to the Opening Mass with His Excellency, William Michael Mulvey, Bishop of Corpus Christi, as our Principal Celebrant. On Saturday morning we will have the annual State Deputy’s Report. The men will then begin our Opening Business session while the ladies enjoy a special luncheon event. In the afternoon, business will continue for the men until we complete our caucus meetings.

On Saturday evening, our Annual Memorial Mass will be celebrated with our State Chaplain Bishop Joseph Strickland. The evening will conclude with a wonderful State Banquet. On Sunday morning the ladies will meet for a notable breakfast while the men wrap up the State Council’s business, including the election of new state officers. After the final session closes, all are invited to witness a special invitation for next year’s convention in Dallas, and the elected delegates and other interested persons will receive details on the Supreme Convention in Minneapolis in August.

As we gather in Corpus Christi, we will have much to celebrate. Texas once again leads the Order in charity dollars and volunteer hours of service. We look forward to sharing this time with you and your families. We hope this year has been rewarding for each of you as we seek to support each other, our parishes and our communities as we continue to “Let our Light Shine”.

Vivat Jesus!
