Council 2813

Fort Worth Council 2813 has been making 500 to 525 sandwiches every month for the past 25 years along with delivering 25 to 50 bagsof clothing to the Presbyterian Night Shelter, which serves homeless veterans, women, men and children in Tarrant county. Members, wives and children know to show up on time for “Sandwich Night” because with all the volunteers and the assembly line organization, it takes less than 15 minutes to make all those sandwiches, put each one in its own wrapper then put the completed sandwiches back into a bread sack and finally into a large box for transport.Our Community Activities chairman, Brad Pierce, his wife and two sons (who were small children when they started) are shown in the photo behind the finished product.

That’s 157,500 sandwiches and 15,000 bags of clothes over the last 25 years.
