Mansfield Council Provides Wheelchair to Stranger

As Past Grand Knight of Ed Haidusek and his wife were leaving the hospital after visiting a friend, they observed an elderly lady struggling with her walker as she also left the hospital.In conversation, he learned that her wheelchair was recently stolen and neither the hospital nor the insurance would provide her a new one.Once again, the Knights from St. Jude Council 7736 in Mansfield came to the rescue.By the next evening, Karen Batson was presented with a new bright yellow Knights of Columbus wheelchair.She was very thankful of the Knights.Council 7736 had also recently donated several wheelchairs to the senior citizen center in Mansfield.This has helped several elderly persons in the community who have struggled with old broken wheelchairs and unable to get a new one.The council is planning a wheelchair drive in the near future.
