“Habitat For Humanity Victoria, Texas” Volunteer of the Year Award for 2019 was awarded to Gene Polasek.

Volunteer of the Year Award –Gene Polasek donated more than 275 hours of his time in 2019 to build alongside our homeowners and volunteers on Saturdays. As a member of Knights of Columbus, Council # 9088, he has volunteered on the Habitat jobsite for over 10 years. Gene’s humble heart and his ever-present smile make him a favorite with our volunteers. He is patient and kind, and knows just how to show a newbie the ins and outs of framing a wall, a window or a doorway. Brother Gene has served K of C, Holy Family, Council 9088, Victoria, Texas in many positions Inside Guard and Worthy Warden. He has stepped up when someone is not available. Gene has help with most activities the K of C do. Gene helps at church with the Parking Lot Ministry. Gene is a 3^rd degree member with 19 years as a Knight. Gene was also Knight of the Year for 2018.

Also, the members of K of C, Holy Family, Council #9088 contributed 573 volunteer hours helping to build affordable homes in Victoria in 2019.
