St. Frances Cabrini Council 9748

St. Frances Cabrini Council 9748 in Granbury TX decided to give Coats for Kids a try. We hoped to raise $2,000 and distribute 4 cases of boys and girls light weight hooded jackets (96 jackets total). We elicited the help of one of our local food banks, People Helping People to help with signing up and distributing coats. In one weekend, thanks to our generous parish, we raised $6,000 dollars in cash, checks and credit card transactions. We expanded our outreach to the elementary schools in the Granbury School District and to Catholic Charities of Ft. Worth. At the completion of this program, we distributed 4 cases of jackets via People Helping People, 10 cases of jackets through counselors at the elementary schools and 3 cases through Catholic Charities for a total of 408 jackets distributed to the needy children in our community. We are very excited about the success of Coat for Kids and look forward to continuing this program next year.
