Father Joseph Plummer Council 10872 of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community in Spring, TX has been engaged in service to Council members and other parishioners before and during the Covid 19 pandemic.

• Six brothers contributed over 100 hours of service to completely reconstruct a backyard patio for one of our homebound brothers and his wife.The project included design, material evaluation and procurement, construction, and finishing work.Our Council donated $1500 to cover the cost of all materials.
• Council 10872 has embraced the Leave No Knight Behind concept wholeheartedly.15 of our members have contacted each of our brothers at least twice by telephone since the onset of the pandemic.The calls allowed us to assess physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and to respond to those needs to the best of our ability.Equally important, the program afforded us the opportunity to reconnect with brothers who had been relatively inactive in the Council.
• Three of our brother Knights have reached out by telephone to the widows of our members who have passed.These calls were very warmly received.
• We have also done our best to address the needs of the parish community: Leave No Neighbor Behind.Twelve of our brothers participated in three rounds of phone calls to parishioners.The goal is to contact each of the 4000+ families in our parish.This has largely been accomplished with a substantive contribution from the Knights.In addition Council members have delivered food to the parishioners needing this service and donated milk to go with each grocery order.
• We have co-hosted two blood drives resulting in significant contributions to augment the depleted reserves of the Houston Blood Center.
• We have made monetary and food donations to both Covenant House and Northwest Assistance Ministries.
• We have donated $10,000 to our beloved Christ the Good Shepherd Parish to be used by our pastor at his discretion to meet the greatest parish needs.

Council 10872 is committed to continuing to do our best to support and be of service to our brother Knights, to our parish family, and to our community neighbors.
