Brother Knight Jerry O'Brien (photo) gets a well-deserved rest after donating one of 39 units of blood products collected April 29. The April 29 drive was a special mid-week 'by appointment only' drive respecting COVID-19 requirements including disinfecting, face masks, and social distancing.

Monsignor Alfred Raye council 9201 collected 113 units of blood product since coronavirus was declared a pandemic March 11^th. Council 9201 in southeast Houston annually conducts six blood drives after Sunday masses at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. Phlebotomists from Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center draw the blood, which is needed to save lives.
