Like many Knights of Columbus
Councils throughout the country participating in the Leave No Neighbor
Behind Programs during this pandemic, our Council #16546 in Garland,
Texas took on the challenge to distribute and deliver dried food to
families in need. On a rainy Saturday, May 16, our Chaplin Father Paul,
Brothers and their families help to package food and load them into the
trunks of cars as people drove through the parking lot It was quite a
task to keep the flow of traffic moving, coordinating the placement of
food into the trunks, and minimizing the amount of water getting in to
the trunks. For those that could not make it, Brothers delivered the
food to their homes. It was a success when you saw people driving off
smiling and waving to us with thanks.
The true
meaning of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity of the Knights came out during
this LNNB drive. This was made possible with the generous donations
from our parish, the many Brothers and volunteers who stepped out into
the rain without hesitation to load the food or delivered them
May God and Our Mother Mary continue to bless and protect ALL of us as we struggle through this pandemic time.
