My Brother Knights,

Enjoy this edition of the Texas Knight. You are about to see what is going on around our great state. Our motto for the fraternal is Be Not Afraid.

We are two months into the fraternal year. Not much has changed except a greater opportunity to show who we are.Let’s take advantage of this opportunity to show that if you join the Knights of Columbus you can become a better person, better husband, better father, better community member. We make a difference in the world, let us show who we are.

These are also exciting times for the Knights of Columbus. Our founder, Fr. Michael J. McGivney, will be Beatified on October 31st. A second miracle has been approved. After October 31st, he will be known as Blessed Fr. Michael J. McGivney. We will continue our prayers until he becomes a saint.

The pandemic is still around. Let’s implement the Leave No Neighbor Behind initiative. There are people out there that need help whether it is to go get groceries or to just get around town. There are council members that might have the same need.Let’s practice the first principle of the Order and be charitable with our fellow man.

Churches need our help, also. All churches need to follow the guidelines when it comes to social distancing. Our council members need to be the leaders in helping our churches during these tough times.Members should be ushers, lectors, ministers, etc. for all Masses. We should be the first call a Priest makes when he needs help.

Let’s continue our efforts to grow our membership. We can never say enough is enough. We will always need more manpower to do everything that we do.Ask a neighbor, parishioner, and/or community member to join the Knights of Columbus. He will benefit by joining our Order.

My brother Knights, let’s get the job done.Let’s be visible, let’s help wherever we can.

Stay safe, stay healthy.

Vivat Jesus.
