19th Annual Prolife Golf Tournament Another Rousing Success For Council 6065 In Plano

On Saturday October 24^th sixty four golfers took to the Woodbridge Golf Club course in Wylie for the 19^th annual Prolife Golf Tournament sponsored by Santa Maria Council 6065 in Plano. During the planning of the event, as with many fundraisers these days, there was much concern about how large the turnout would be based upon the current pandemic. Well, when the day of the event came the generosity and enthusiasm of our players and many sponsors overcame all else, and a net profit of about $10,200 was achieved for the 2020 event! This brings our 19- year total raised to over $140,000.00 and the proceeds once again this year will be split evenly between the White Rose Women’s Center and the Birth Choice Center to provide care, services and supplies to pregnant women. Much gratitude and thanks go out to Brother Steve Cosgrove and his wife Cindy who have headed this effort tirelessly since its beginnings and have been the main reason why it continues to grow and prosper! Steve and Cindy’s dedication to the prolife cause is an example for all of us. Santa Maria Council 6065 is based at St. Mark the Evangelist parish in Plano and has been a Star Council award recipient for the last 2 years. The Council was also named “Council of the Year” in the Dallas Diocesan Chapter for 2019.
