Council 9088 from Victoria, Texas Holy Family Parish took on a new fundraising effort for a worthwhile charity. They sold bagged pecans and pecan goodies from a pecan orchard business. Parishioners made purchases after several weekend Masses in November and December and via on-line sales.
The proceeds from the sales benefitted the St. John Paul II Life Center located in Austin. The Life Center is a crisis pregnancy center, ob-gyn clinic and offers education to clients and doctors in training. More information about this great organization can be found at www.jpiilifecenter.org.
The Victoria council provided a check for $2,755 to the St. John Paul II Life Center. The amount included profit from sales and Holy Family parishioner free will donations. Deacon Mark Fair (CEO of the St. John Paul ll Life Center) discussed the mission of the Center and provided a tour for the Council 9088 Chaplain Father Patrick Knippenberg and members Deacon Eddie Huse and Gerardo Guajardo.

Included in the photos are 150 children born to parents who received infertility treatment at the Center.
