Prince of Peace again donates over $125K to American Wheelchair Mission

Shaun P. O'Brien-Prince of Peace Council 11716 in Plano, Texas held its 11th Annual Wheelchair Drive at its parish in February to benefit the American Wheelchair Mission. As of April 28th, the drive has raised an amazing $126,186 to provide 280 standard wheelchairs and 100 more expensive specialty wheelchairs for the CRIT Center in Tamaulipas, Mexico.This is the 3rd year in a row that the donations have exceeded $125K.

Since 2009, the extremely generous parishioners of Prince of Peace Catholic Community have donated $822,115 to provide2,989 standard wheelchairs and 500 specialty wheelchairs for people in need. These life changing gifts of mobility have answered many prayers.In past years they provided wheelchairs for Honduras, The Holy Land and to CRIT Centers at these locations in Mexico: Guanajuato, Mexico City, Chiapas, La Paz, Puebla, Merida, Oaxaca and Aguascalientes.

The Knights of Columbus are very grateful to Fr. Tom Cloherty and Fr. Stephen Ingram for their tremendous support of the mission again this year by allowing pulpit talks at all the masses, contributing to the mission and sharing their wheelchair distribution experiences.The Knights are also grateful to the parishioners of Prince of Peace Catholic Community for their overwhelming generosity.
