Wheelchair Mission Report

By Bill Weber, Wheelchair Chairman

Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025

Paul H Ledet Jr Copy

As of April 28, 2021, 153 Councils, 3 Assemblies and 1 Chapter have donated $317,071 for 2,113 wheelchairs. With only one full month left in the fraternal year, we are significantly short of the $413,394 that was donated last fraternal year.Shown below are the Totals by Diocese and the Top 15 Texas Councils.

Thank you so much to all the Councils, Assemblies, Chapters and Knights that have donated to the American Wheelchair Mission this fraternal year. The State goal is for each Council to participate in this program by donating at least $150 for one wheelchair. It is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, so please don’t think that donating a wheelchair doesn’t make a difference.

Please make every effort to get your donation in before June 30th.With a $150 donation, you can request a personalized Certificate of Thanks which includes a picture of a wheelchair recipient. With a $500 donation, you can request a framed 34” x 23” lithograph of Our Lady of Guadalupe, blessed at her Basilica in Mexico City. And a Council donation of $1,500 for 10 wheelchairs counts 2 points towards earning the Columbian Award.

The Knights of Columbus provides a grant each year to the American Wheelchair Mission to cover their overhead costs, so 100% of your donation goes towards the purchase and delivery of a wheelchair.

Please mail checks and donation forms to Dan Moberg, American Wheelchair Mission, 2600 E. Seltice Way, Suite A172, Post Falls, ID 83854-7991.Be sure your Council Number and Diocese are on your checks, so that your donation will be properly credited.

For online donations, please visit www.amwheelchair.org/donate and select Knights of Columbus in the Campaign field and enter your Council Number in the Organization field.

Please contact Texas Wheelchair Chairman Bill Weber at 214-405-8023 or yankeesweb@tx.rr.com if you have any questions about the Wheelchair Mission or need any help conducting a Wheelchair Sunday.Bill would be glad to talk to your Pastor or Council about the program and address any questions or concerns they might have.Thank you and God bless you Texas Brother Knights.
