Council 13133

Council # 13133 at St. Martin of Tours in Talty (Forney) recently put on an annual picnic for the parish as we have for a number of years now. This year was special due to the shutdown with the 2020 pandemic so we called it the Welcome Back Assumption Family Picnic & Horseshoe Tournament on August 7, 2021.

The event started after 4:30 PM Mass in the church followed by a candlelight rosary procession led by Father Patrick Olaleye to honor our Blessed Mother for the upcoming Assumption of Mary Holy Day of obligation. Since parishioners have gotten used to watching Mass from the comfort of their home the past year, we felt an obligation to help the parish “Welcome Back” everyone to attend Mass as a community once again and of course share some fellowship with our families.

We had a fun filled old-fashioned evening of music, food, fun, and fellowship with our council providing hamburgers, hot dogs, fajitas, and brisket. We also had volleyball, water slides, gaga pit, and the horseshoe tournament.

Council # 13133 takes pride in serving the call and need of our parish St. Martin of Tours. Our Brother Knights take a lead in answering that call in full force.
