Fort Worth Knights Donate Wheelchairs

Vol. 4, 2016-2017

Wc1

Knights from the Fort Worth Diocese donated 25 wheelchairs to the DFW Honor Flight organization as they prepared for their flight to Washington DC in September. Our State Secretary Diego Pena, State Warden Boyd Burris, State Program Director Pat Henz, State Wheelchair Chairman Bill Weber, Fort Worth Diocesan Deputy Bill Tillotson, Former FW Diocesan Deputy Bruce Mallory, and so many others Brother Knights were all there to help unload the chairs.

The Honor Flight uses the wheelchairs to wheel the veterans as they sightsee the WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and the Vietnam Memorial. These veterans love the bright yellow wheelchairs with the Knights of Columbus emblem on them. The DFW Honor Flight team are so grateful to the Knights for their generous donation of the wheelchairs. And the Knights are so honored to show our support to our veterans. On this last flight, there were 11 WWII veterans, 19 Korean veterans, and 9 Vietnam veterans. The amazing thing, four of those WWII veterans were over 100 years old. God Bless our Veterans.
