Knights in Action

In a memorial to the late Sir Knight Bryan Banks, a motley crew of young and young at heart men from Knights of Columbus Council 8417, St. Joseph Church in Waxahachie, Texas spent a weekend during Advent 2021 sprucing up the landscaping around the church and rectory on East Marvin Street. Sir Knight Bryan Banks and wife Kate were the driving force behind the landscaping of the church over the prior several years, with Bryan lending his experience and talents at landscape design. On that third weekend of Advent, fire ant “treatment”, weed removal, light trimming of bushes, leaf and trash removal, planting of replacement shrubberies, sprinkler adjustments, and the installation of 140 bags of mulch were the activities completed.

Knights from Council 8417 participating were Russell Osborn, “Captain Kirk” Crawford, Adam Banks, and Dave Thomas, along with future Knights Michael Gonzales, William and Joey Rolen, Kate Banks, and two of her grandsons, Caleb and Ashton Hughes.
