Vol. 4, 2016-2017

Ultra

Mike Eder (Holy Family Council 15882) presents the check for the portable ultrasound machine on December 29, 2021 to Dr. King and Nicole Havrilla, President of WLAC, along with brother knights Dan Porter (Assembly 2857) on the far left, and Mark Von Rosenburg (St. Ann’s Council 7175) at left-center.

The Knights of Columbus completed a successful Ultrasound Project on December 29, 2021 with Whole Life Authentic Care in Fort Worth, Texas. It was a true team effort by nine KOC councils and assemblies in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Chapter, who coordinated their efforts through the Texas Knights of Columbus at the state level, and the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council at the national level, which is located in New Haven, Connecticut. The three month project was led by Council 15882 (Holy Family Catholic Church in Fort Worth), but could not have been accomplished without the assistance of their brother knights at Council 4101 (St. Peter The Apostle in Fort Worth), Council 7099 (St. Francis of Assisi in Grapevine), Council 7175 (St. Ann’s in Burleson), Council 14339 (the Moncla council that supports St. Joseph’s in Nocona, St. William in Montague, St. Jerome in Bowie, and St. Mary’s in Henrietta), Council 12553 (St. Mark’s in Denton), Council 8512 (St. John The Apostle in North Richland Hills), District 31 (St. Paul The Apostle in River Oaks and the Naval Air Station in Fort Worth), Council 1459 (Sacred Heart in Muenster), and Assembly 2857 in Keller, Texas.

It all started with a simple phone call and email about a need for a portable ultrasound machine at Whole Life Authentic Care (WLAC) - a burgeoning new health care clinic in Fort Worth that focuses on a new scientific approach at helping women and their husbands start a family :the Creighton Model Fertility Care™ System & NaPro TECHNOLOGY™. Although WLAC already had a full-size state-of-the-art ultrasound machine, it needed a portable unit that would allow the clinic to more efficiently treat and evaluate clients at its growing facility. WLAC works in conjunction with the Fertility Care Center of Fort Worth (FCCFW), which has six fertility care practitioners. Both the WLAC and the FCCFW honor the sanctity of life, respects the dignity of women, and serves the whole family.

WLAC and FCCFW are located in Fort Worth, Texas. For more information, please visit their websites at https://www.wholelifeac.com/ and https://www.fertilitycarecenterfw.com/.
