Council 16393

Council #16393 of St. John Paul II in Denton has been very busy serving the students of the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University. Since neither school has a council, we serve the students of both schools. Our most enjoyable events last year were marching with the students in pro life events. After the election of our new Grand Knight Robert Black and other officers, the council went to work planning events for the students. Our first event was a back to school cook out where we served hot dogs and hamburgers for all. During the year we also sponsor and cook a meal for all students on Wednesday nights, after Mass, and serve pancakes or burritos on Sunday as well. They say a way to a person’s heart is through their stomach; if this is so, we are touching many hearts. Because of all our hard work, we have had four new student members this year. Our newest initiative is establishing a scholarship for a student at each university which we will be disbursing soon. Please keep our council and the students in your prayers, God bless.
