On October 12, 2022, Council 6358 (Good Shepherd, Schertz) presented a check for a new 4-D Ultrasound machine to the staff of South Texas Pregnancy Care Center (STPCC) in Seguin. As part of the Order’s Ultrasound Initiative, Council 6358 raised half of the funds needed, and those funds will be matched by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council.

STPCC Executive Director, Janice Weaver, stated, “We are overwhelmed by the amazing support we have received from Council 6358, and their unwavering commitment to the sanctity of human life, from the womb to the tomb. ”Donna Laubach, R.N, STPCC’s Nurse Manager, is excited about receiving this new ultrasound machine. “This machine will give a sharper image and allow us to see the baby in the womb even earlier. Having the capability of doing a 4-D ultrasound later in the pregnancy will also be exciting for our clients.”

STPCC is the only pregnancy care center in Guadalupe County, and it is the only center of its kind between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Therefore, it supports an immense geographic area with its critical services. The new ultrasound machine is a welcome relief for STPCC, whose current machine is past its life expectancy and increasingly experiencing problems. It is one less financial concern for them as the center continues fundraising to begin construction on its new facility in January 2023.Council 6358 additionally donated $15,000 for STPCC’s new facility earlier this year.

The new ultrasound machine will arrive and be in use by STPCC before the holiday season. What a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of our Savior this year….by providing the equipment necessary to help support births right here in our own Texas communities!
