Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025
Houston, Texas. St. Michael the Archangel Parish is blessed to have parishioners with the compassion to support those in the Houston community who are in in greatest need of assistance. Council 14700’s recent October 1-2, 2022 Parish Food Drive exceeded the Council’s goals and expectations. In fact, the Council exceeded in one weekend its annual food collection goal of 5,000 pounds!
Council 14700 has partnered with the Christian Community Service Center (CCSC), which serves hundreds of community members in need each week. The CCSC distributes well-balanced grocery packages, including nutritious food, as well as hygienic items and diapers, to individuals and families in need. Council 14700 is thrilled to have donated more than 3,500 pounds of products to CCSC.
The Council also partners with our St. Michael the Archangel Deacon, Dennis Hayes, who ministers directly to the homeless population on Houston’s streets. Council 14700 was able to provide more than 2,000 pounds of ready to consume food products, along with $450 in supermarket gift cards, which have been distributed to feed several hundred homeless persons.
The Council looks forward to continuing its efforts to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by endeavoring to help our neighbors in need.©2024 Texas State Council. All rights reserved.
