Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025

Council 10776 conducted several activities this winter in support of our parish and St. Austin Catholic School (SACS).

Photo 1: The Keep Christ In Christmas Poster Contest is always a favorite event with the younger grade-school children of SACS. More than 30 budding artists showed off their talent. Pictured is the 5th Grade winner.

Photo 2: St. Austin parishioners donated over 1000 pounds of food at Thanksgiving to restock the Micah 6 Food Pantry. Problem: how to move all that food to the pantry. Solution: 3 Knights in 2 trucks. We did it in about an hour! L-R:Dennis Moraw, Paul Lewis, George Pratte.

Photo 3: The Council sells breakfast tacos once a month as a fundraiser. Just as the three Magi came bearing gifts, on Epiphany Sunday, we gave away tacos for FREE as a way to give back to our loyal parishioners for supporting our fundraising activities during the year. Our patrons repaid us with donations amounting to $153 which we contributed to the American Wheelchair Mission.

Photo 4: After a hiatus of several years, the Basketball Free Throw Contest returned to SACS on Saturday, January 28th. We utilized the gym at San Juan Diego High School as SACS does not have a gym in its temporary facility. Young hoopsters ranging in age from 9 to 12 gave it their best shot from the foul line.

Photo 5: St. Austin Parish and its Council were well represented at the 30th Annual Clergy and Religious Appreciation Dinner hosted by the Greater Austin Chapter on Tuesday February 7th. Standing (L-R) are Fr. Paolo Puccini CSP, Sr. Hannah O’Donoghue, GK Eric Nichols, Dennis Moraw, Paul Lewis, and SK Larry Schroeder. Also attending but not in the photo were Fr. Bruce Nieli CSP and Dcn. Billy Atkins.
