District II Color Guard Texas State Convention Competition

The Texas Knights of Columbus 119th Annual State Convention was held in Dallas, Texas on May 5-7th, 2023. The San Antonio Diocese was well represented by the District II 4th Degree Color Guard team under the leadership of the District II Master SK Javier Martinez. This year marked the 2nd Annual Color Guard Competition held at the State convention. The competition consists of many requirements. Competition includes a uniform inspection, the review of each team and demonstrating the proper way to post the Colors. Each team consists of 7 Sir Knights (2 Guards, 4 Flag bearers and a Color Guard Commander). This was the first year District II from San Antonio Diocese competed and performed well enough to win first place among two other teams from the State of Texas. The winning team was given the special honor of posting the colors for the convention banquet. In attendance were many State Officers, Catholic Bishops including Bishop Janak and Supreme Officers. Congratulations to the District Master Javier Martinez and the District II Color Guard Team.
