Rosary Crusade in Fiji

By Brother Marc Sherwin Roque, ss.cc., Texas Knight Reporter

Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025

Hello my fellow Brother Knights! Bula and Greetings from Fiji! My name is Brother Marc Roque, I am a 27 year old professed religious brother for the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (SSCC) who is studying for the Catholic Priesthood in the beautiful islands of Fiji. I am also a 4th DegreeKnight of the Knights of Columbus who belongs to Council #15262 - Father Robert Maher - St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Edinburg, Texas (Rio Grande Valley).

As we all know, the month of October is designated as the Month of the Most Holy Rosary by the Catholic Church. I made it my personal mission this past month to do a Rosary Crusade in honor of our Blessed Mother. I visited 5 Catholic Parishes, one on each of the 5 Sundays in the Month of October. During the Rosary Crusade, I did talks on the Rosary and distributed over 600+ handmade rosaries to the parishioners of these parishes. These Parishes were:

  • St. Joan of Arc Parish (Sigatoka)
  • John the Beloved Apostle (Nakasi)
  • St. Vincent de Paul Parish (Nausori)
  • Immaculate Conception Parish (Nadera)
  • St. John the Apostle (Levuka)

The Crusade was a success and I look forward to more Rosary Crusades in the future. It is with hope that the faithful here in Fiji will have a closer and intimate relationship with our Blessed Mother. I give thanks to three Knights of Columbus Councils who have been very generous in helping me get rosary supplies for this Crusade. Councils #15262 (Edinburg, Texas), #5598 (Edinburg, Texas), and #12337 (Harlingen, Texas). I you would like to help me in mission here in Fiji and towards my seminarian studies, or if you have questions about religious order, please feel free to contact me through my email at marc.roque01@gmail.com
